Overhead Door has recently made a change to the OKP-BX wireless key pad (part # 37225R). This change will make it easier to program the keypad to all Overhead Door Code Dodger key pads.
Previously the Overhead Door wireless key pad was set with a factory setting that was compatible with Code Dodger II garage door openers. As a result, if a homeowner had an older model Code Dodger I garage door opener additional programming steps were required.
Although the wireless key pad was compatible with garage door openers such as the Legacy 696CD/B, Standard Drive and Phantom 777CD, the additional programming steps made it confusing to program.
In an effort to improve the ease of use, a homeowner will no longer need to know if their garage door opener is Code Dodger I or Code Dodger II. A homeowner will not need to determine the correct programming instructions to follow and it will no longer be necessary to toggle between Code Dodger I and Code Dodger II.
The newly designed Overhead Door wireless key pad will automatically be compatible with any Code Dodger garage door opener. As a result, the programming instructions will be the same regardless of the model Code Dodger garage door opener.
You can recognize the newly designed wireless keypad by the following:
- The front of the key pad box no longer states "Features Code Dodger 2" at the bottom
- Updated programming instructions on the inside of the key pad cover
- A label with the revision code has been placed or etched on the back side of the key pad
- The term Code Dodger will no longer be seen with the designation of 1 or 2
